Contractor Dashboard

Overview

1099Policy’s Contractor Dashboard is a secure, self-service portal that gives contractors direct visibility into their insurance coverage, billing, and claims information.

Using the Contractor Dashboard, contractors can now:

  • View their active insurance assignments and coverage statuses

  • Access and review Certificates of Insurance

  • Manage billing information and payment methods

  • Review payment history

  • If needed, file claims and access claims information

  • Upload proof of insurance documentation

Invite Contractors to the Contractor Dashboard

In order to access the Contractor Dashboard, you must invite the contractor from within your 1099Policy account. Once invited, contractors will receive an email with a secure magic link. There is no password required to set up – the magic link provides a seamless, secure login experience.

To invite a contractor:

  1. Log into your 1099Policy account and navigate to the contractor’s profile.

  2. Click on the three dots next to the contractor’s name and select ‘Send Dashboard Invitation.”

  3. The contractor will then receive an email with a secure link to access their personalized dashboard.

Once a contractor clicks the invitation link, they’ll be prompted to verify their identity and can optionally enable two-factor authentication for added security.

Revoking Access

If you need to remove a contractor’s access to their dashboard, you can revoke their invitation directly within your 1099Policy account. Once revoked, the contractor will no longer be able to log in.

Contractor Experience

Once logged in, contractors have access to the following sections:

Assignments

The ‘Assignments’ tab shows all active insurance assignments, including the coverage types and compliance status. Contractors can sort assignments by creation date to quickly find what they need.

Certificates

Contractors can use the ‘Certificates’ tab to view their Certificates of Insurance directly within the dashboard and upload proof of insurance documentation when needed, including image uploads for supporting documents.

Billing & Payment Methods

The ‘Billing’ section gives contractors a clear view of their payment history and allows them to manage their payment methods on file. If a payment is required in order to activate or renew coverage, the Contractor Dashboard displays a clear ‘Payment Required’ status badge so the contractor knows exactly what action to take.

Contractors can also add or update payment methods directly through a secure checkout experience.

Claims

The Claims page provides contractors with the information they need to file or follow up on insurance claims, including relevant contact information and claim status details.

Security

The Contractor Dashboard is built with security at its core:

  • Magic link authentication — Contractors log in via a secure, time-limited link sent to their registered email address. No passwords to remember or manage.

  • Two-factor authentication (2FA) — Contractors can enable 2FA for an additional layer of security on their account.

  • Scoped access — Each contractor can only view their own assignments, certificates, billing, and claims. They cannot see other contractors’ information.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to send invitations one at a time? Currently, invitations are sent on a per contractor basis from the contractor’s profile page. If you manage a large contractor workforce and need bulk invitation support, please reach out to support@1099policy.com.

Can contractors make changes to their coverage? No – changes to coverage types or assignment configurations are managed by your team through the 1099Policy dashboard.

What happens if a contractor loses access to their email? Since logins are email based, contractors who lose access to their registered email address will need to contact your team for assistance. You can revoke the existing invitation and reissue one to an updated email if needed.

What’s next for the Contractor Dashboard? Some sections of the Contractor Dashboard may display a “Coming Soon” label, indicating functionality that is actively in development. These modules will become available in future updates. If there’s anything else you’d like to see within the Contractor Dashboard, please contact support@1099policy.com.
