Dashboard overview

This article outlines key features of the 1099Policy dashboard, designed to streamline insurance compliance for independent contractors. As of June 2025 we've added even more functionality to our original dashboard with the launch of Dashboard v2! Check out new and existing features below.

Overview

1099Policy's Overview page provides a snapshot of your organization’s usage data, along with any open action items that need to be addressed.

Highlights:

  • Usage data: Track trends in how your company uses 1099Policy

  • Contractors with pending applications: View a list of all contractors with assignments in 1099Policy that have not yet opted into coverage.

  • Assignments needing purchase order #s: Once a 1099Policy dashboard user inputs a purchase order number, 1099Policy will issue an invoice for that assignment. This area highlights assignments in 1099Policy that have not yet had a purchase order number shared.

  • Certificates pending reviewing (beta) - see Certificate Review and Tracking for more information

  • Contractors with expiring certificates (beta) - see Certificate Review and Tracking for more information

Premium Calculator

By popular demand, team members can now forecast premium and platform access fee costs for your projects and campaigns prior to uploading them to 1099Policy, using our Premium Calculator. Either input the job category, coverage type(s), work and home state, and wage for an individual contractor or upload multiple contractors via a .csv.

Contractors

The Contractors tab simplifies managing your workforce by providing tools to refine searches and monitor contractor statuses, and is where agency reps spend the majority of their time in 1099Policy.

Features include:

  • Filters: Search within your contractor list or filter down by location, job type, or insurance status.

  • Contractor Profiles: View and manage key details like opt-in status, job descriptions, and required coverage. Within contractor profiles, team members can adjust a contractor's wage or dates for a specific assignment, or add additional assignments for repeat contractors.

  • 'Add Contractor' button: Team members can add new contractors to 1099Policy via this tab, either via a direct intake form or by bulk uploading multiple contractors with a .csv.

Assignments

New to Dashboard v2, the Assignments tab allows you to view all assignments in 1099Policy, in aggregate. Previously, assignments were only listed on individual contractor profiles. If you'd like to view all contractors associated with a specific project or campaign, you can now do so on the assignments page. Team members can also add new assignments for existing contractors here.

Client Entities, Certificates, and Trackers

1099Policy is excited to announce the free trial period of our Certificate Review functionality, while still in beta. For more information, see our article on Reviewing and Tracking Certificates.
