Premium payments: Agency Remit vs. Contractor Pay
1099Policy offers two options for submitting insurance premium fees: Agency Remit and Contractor Pay.
Agency Remit: Enterprise client (i.e. agency) remits the cost of coverage on behalf of the contractor after receiving an invoice from 1099Policy.
Contractor Pay: The contractors pays for coverage directly via credit card while opting into coverage.
Agency reps select the payment option, per assignment, either when uploading data to 1099Policy (for new contractors) or when adding assignments (for existing contractors).
These payment options apply to insurance premiums only. The Platform Access Fee is always paid by enterprise clients and may not be paid by (or passed along to) contractors.
Please note that contractors synced via Worksuite currently pay the cost of their premium via Contractor Pay. Our teams are actively working to support Agency Remit longer term.
