Creator IQ setup and troubleshooting
1099Policy offers a CreatorIQ integration that syncs creator information between CreatorIQ and 1099Policy. Creators on the CreatorIQ platform that are required to have either (1) Workers' Compensation or (2) General Liability insurance have the option of using 1099Policy platform to procure both types of insurance on a pay-as-you-go basis.
This guide is meant for enterprises that have already set up the connection between 1099Policy and CreatorIQ.
To connect CreatorIQ and 1099Policy, please first see our developer documentation.

Launch campaigns and onboard creators (for agency reps)
Enterprise agency reps mostly follow the same steps to launch campaigns and onboard creators in CreatorIQ when offering 1099Policy as they would otherwise.
Before going through the workflow, please ensure the following fields are completed:
Creator's address (and in particular their home state);
Amount creator will be paid;
Creator's work state; and
Creator's email address
If any of the fields above are missing from the creator’s CreatorIQ profile, the sync between CreatorIQ and 1099Policy will fail. Note that we ingest other fields as well, including campaign description, and start and end date, etc.
Once the required fields are completed and you're ready to onboard creators and launch your campaign, please follow these steps:
Create the campaign in CreatorIQ
Add creators to the campaign
Add or update the creators' contact information (i.e., address)
Add the creators' payment amount
Update any custom creator fields (base pay, etc.)
Move the creator to “Accepted”
Update creators' email
The act of moving the creator to “Accepted” then updating the creator’s email (or any other personal information, such as address) is what triggers the sync from CreatorIQ to 1099Policy.
Congratulations🥂, you now have everything you need to successfully sync between CreatorIQ and 1099Policy. You can now navigate to the 1099Policy dashboard to view your CreatorIQ freelancers and their insurance applications.

Troubleshooting steps
If a creator hasn't synced from CreatorIQ to 1099Policy, here are a few details to check in CreatorIQ:
Is the campaign start date set in the future?
The campaign start date must be set in the future, as 1099Policy uses campaign start and end dates to determine coverage start and end dates. We cannot issue retroactive coverage.
Is the creator's home or work state in the U.S.?
If the creator's home and work states are outside the US in the 'Creator Attribute' tab in CreatorIQ, the creator will not sync to 1099Policy. Be sure to update the contractor’s city, state, and country of residence in CreatorIQ.
Is the 'Payment Amount' field completed?
The creator payment must be greater than zero, since the payment to the creator serves as the basis for calculating their premium payment, the sync fails when passed a zero or empty value for the payment amount. If you include an amount in “Base Pay” under the “Creator Attributes” tab, make sure you enter only numeric values (i.e., 4500 valid, $4,500.00 invalid).
Were the 'launch campaign' steps taken in the correct order?
If you move a creator to 'Accepted' prior to steps 1-4 (above), 1099Policy will not sync the creator from CreatorIQ.
If you're still not seeing the creator in 1099Policy, please contact support@1099policy.com and copy your CreatorIQ rep.
